Robert Laus BSc MCSP, Sports Medicine Ultrasound Group (SMUG) Lead
Robert is a highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and sonographer and specialises in ultrasound imaging in sports medicine.
He completed his degree in 1989 in the Netherlands and became a senior partner in private practice. In 2004 he co-founded the Waterside Physiotherapy Clinic, in Canary Wharf.
Robert specialises in diagnostic ultrasound imaging, complex sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation and helped pioneer the use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging within sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation in Europe. Since 1996 he has fully integrated it within his clinics, combining his expertise in sports medicine with ultrasound imaging, providing tailored sports injury rehabilitation programmes.
He is regularly invited to lecture on musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging in sports medicine and provides advanced ultrasound skills training courses for sports physicians and sports physiotherapists both nationally and internationally.
SMUG has recently partnered with the UCO on a new diagnostic ultrasound teaching clinic, providing students with the opportunity to develop their ultrasound skills under tuition from experts in the field, and UCO Clinic patients with the opportunity to access musculoskeletal ultrasound services at affordable prices.
