Osteopath and Practice Educator (BSc Hons Ost, PG Cert in Academic and Clinical Practice)
Philippa qualified from The British School of Osteopathy (formally UCO School of Osteopathy and now Health Sciences University), in 1998 and began her career working in clinics across London and later in the Midlands. During this time, she developed close links with local GP practices to support collaborative patient care. After nine years, she returned to London and began working part-time in clinical teaching and supervision of 3rd and 4th year osteopathic students, alongside continuing her private practice. She describes this combination of teaching and clinical work as providing a diverse and stimulating working life.
Philippa uses both structural and cranial osteopathic techniques in her practice. She also has an interest in incorporating elements of Pilates into her exercise prescription when appropriate.
She enjoys working with older patients who wish to maintain an active lifestyle, as well as with pregnant patients and babies.
Patients can expect clear communication, thorough information gathering, and a comprehensive structural assessment. Philippa takes time to have a full conversation around diagnosis and to collaboratively formulate a treatment plan, which may include exercise prescription and effective manual treatment.
