Just one week ago, the UCO clinic decided to temporarily suspend face-to-face consultations for the time being. This was a very difficult decision, but was taken in response to the guidance at the time, in order to prioritise the wellbeing of our patients, students, staff and the wider community.
Since we closed our physical doors, the clinic team have been working hard to ensure we can still support our patients remotely. Last week our Wednesday clinic tutors took part in some IT training, and we have all now moved to the UCO virtual clinic where we continue to support our students by recreating as many aspects of clinical learning as we can, as well as continuing to support our patients at this difficult time.
Peter Simpson, one of our experienced clinic tutors, was providing patient consultations on the phone last Thursday and said:
“I really enjoyed talking and listening to the people, supporting them, reassuring them, encouraging them to be active despite their pain and discussing strategies for them to further support themselves in their own environments. All in all an excellent afternoon.”
Please remember that we are offering telephone consultations to our existing patients and to those who may be new to us. If you or someone you know would like to speak with one of our qualified osteopaths, please email clinicappointments@uco.ac.uk with your details and we will get back to you as soon as we can. You can also call us on 020 7089 5316, between 09:30-12:30 and 14:30-16:30.
We hope that everyone is keeping safe and please do get in touch if we can be of any help.
